iiPay has a unique opportunity for a highly experienced and motivated Data & Analytics Engineer who wants to take responsibility for our growing data & analytics to help drive our goal of ‘Paying the Planet’.


Role Overview


Our highly motivated and engaged team members are at the heart of our success!  This role requires the gathering of requirements, design and build data models and implement powerful visualisations.


As a Data & Analytics Engineer, you will need to use your knowledge and expertise to apply strong analytical and modelling skills, alongside a good attention to detail to ensure quality products are delivered in line with project priorities. This will include the maintenance and development of our data platform, data collection, processing, transforming, and modelling. You will play a key role in shaping the technical direction of our platform and our approach to data. You will bring robust engineering practises, along with hands-on experience of building scalable and reusable infrastructure and data platforms.


The successful applicant will ideally have experience in payroll or a related financial field and should have experience of working with software development teams. You should have extensive experience of data & analytics engineering to support the delivery of powerful insights into our business, as well as having the flexibility to apply themselves to other roles and responsibilities when required. The successful applicant will be highly motivated, manage their work to meet business deadlines and demonstrate the demeanour to fit in with the rapidly evolving environment of a growing business.  You will have a demonstrated ability to see beyond the current challenges or obstacles and have an ability to focus on “what’s possible”.


The successful candidate requires experience, skills, and a proven track record in the following areas:


  • Ability to work enthusiastically and collaboratively with stakeholders, both internal and external, to understand their data needs and to translate them into valuable platform capabilities
  • Ability to communicate the data requirements to both technical and non-technical teams
  • A keen interest in building solutions that enhance and simplify the user experience
  • Demonstrated ability to perform at a high level in a high-growth, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to understand competitive information and analyse/propose requirements to ensure the solution is innovative and competitive
  • Experience in the payroll, financial or human capital management field


What are we looking for in you?


  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in designing, implementing, testing, and configuring data analytics platforms
  • Advanced SQL (Other programming languages such as Python and R advantageous)
  • Deep understanding of systems, reporting, visualisation, and analytical tools
  • Ability to produce designs that support the delivery of quality data and robust advanced analytical models
  • Integrating data into analytical platforms and managing structured and unstructured data flows
  • Capacity to become a subject matter expert for our products/solutions and be able to evolve that knowledge as the product develops
  • Is naturally curious and spends time to understand industry trends and the competitive landscape to ensure that our requirements reflect current and future state
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities with an ability to develop technical and functional specifications that are easily understood by the intended audience
  • Excellent customer services skills including expertise in working with external clients and internal business stakeholders
  • Significant attention to detail
  • An understanding of Data Quality and its huge importance and impact
