iiPay has a unique opportunity for a highly experienced and motivated Senior Software Developer who wants to resolve software issues, improve the functionality of existing software and ensuring that the design, application and maintenance of software meets the quality standards of the company to help drive to our goal of ‘Paying the Planet’.

 

Role Overview

 

Our highly motivated and engaged team members are at the heart of our success!  This role requires recommending adjustments to resolve software issues, improving the functionality of existing software, and ensuring that the design, application, and maintenance of software meets the quality standards of the company.

 

The successful candidate should be able to evaluate the user’s needs, time limitations and system limitations when developing software, and have the desire to stay up to date on new technologies and software development practices.

 

The successful candidate will be expected to work collaboratively with the rest of the team to support our technology objectives. This will cover all aspects of software delivery from design, implementation and process.

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining the systems used by our payroll teams, to ensure accurate and timely delivery of our service. They will be required to work across the technology stack, therefore a solid grasp of back-end processing and reporting, security fundamentals as they relate to web-based applications

 

Key objectives of the role

 

The successful candidate requires minimum 5 years of software development experience and the ability to demonstrate a proven track record in the following areas:

 

  • Strong programming skills in C# but willing to develop Java skills to drive a migration of UI components to a new Angular/Java based tech stack
  • Whilst primarily focussed on backend and middle tier API development, the ability to maintain and do small enhancements to an existing set of UI projects will require some knowledge of legacy ASP, ASPX, CSHTML sites as well as basic UI web skills including HTML, CSS and JavaScript/JQuery
  • Thorough understanding of key cloud application technologies / techniques and conscious of the requirements in the creation of secure solutions
  • Experience of Amazon Web Services or the Microsoft Azure platform
  • A solid grasp of source control techniques
  • An understanding of database technologies i.e. data modelling and SQL
  • Ability to produce readable well engineered code
  • Understanding unit testing strategies
  • Understanding of separations of concern in software using multi-tier strategies
  • Good delegation, time management and problem-solving abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with product development, QA, and internal users
  • Client-focused; Understand the need for intuitiveness, simplicity and ease-of-use
  • Continuously looking for innovative web-based solutions to solve problems
  • Continuous Learner
Requirements:

What are we looking for in you?

 

  • Industry standard qualifications or relevant higher education awards are desirable, but on the job experience the ability to demonstrate your aptitude is the most important factor for this role.
  • The successful applicant will ideally have experience in payroll, financial or human capital management software development.
  • They should have the ability to become a systems expert and have experience of managing and prioritising workloads.
  • They should have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, both verbal and written, and possess a keen attention to detail.
  • They will be required to work in a global environment, with clients that have an expectation of service excellence.
